« Revelation Lyrical Artist of the Victories of Classical Music 2017 », HSBC award for the Festival d’Aix en Provence and Young Soloist Award for Francophone Media 2018, Lea Desandre was recognized at the age of 20 by William Christie and joined the Jardin des Voix 2015. She continues her development with Sara Mingardo, Valérie Guillorit and Véronique Gens.


Trained for twelve years in classical dance, the stage is a real and natural place of expression for Lea Desandre. Since 2015, each season marks new entries to her repertoire, with her first transvestite and handelian roles such as Sesto Giulio Cesare and Ruggiero Alcina, but also the titles of Alcione/Marais to the Opera Comique (Paris), the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence in Erismena/Cavalli, and Abel in The Death of Abel/Caldara.

She is a notable performer of Messaggiera Orfeo/Monteverdi, Dido Dido & Aeneas/Purcell, Annio La Clemenza di Tito/Mozart, Love Orphée/Gluck-Berlioz, Valletta and Amore The Coronation of Poppée/Monterverdi, Venus Orphée to the Hells/Offenbach. Her musical versatility also led her to reveal herself in a « single stage » (pastiche by Rameau) at the Comic Opera, as well as in the great Farinelli Gala of the Salzburger Festspiele, alongside Cecilia Bartoli.


Her concerts and recitals lead her to sing around the world: Wigmore Hall, Mozarteum Salzburg, Musikverein Wien, Alice Tully Hall (NY), Walts Disney Concert Hall (LA), Harris Theater Chicago, Festival d’Aix en Provence, Théâtre des champs Elysées, Opera Royal de Versailles, Philarmonie de Paris, Opera de Bordeaux, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opera de Royan, Dijon, Lille Opera House, Sydney Opera house, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow), Theater and der Wien, Shanghai Symphony Hall, KKL Luzern, Teatros del Canal (Madrid) as well as the Opera-Comique and Salzburger Festspiele for several consecutive years.


She is very committed to chamber music and regularly performs in concert with Thomas Dunford and the Ensemble Jupiter.

Lea Desandre is invited to sing with prestigious chefs and musicians such as William Christie, Sir John Elliot Gardiner, Marc Minkowski, Raphäel Pichon, Emmanuelle Haim, Jordi Savall, Thomas Dunford, Jean Rondeau, Christophe Rousset, Laurence Equilbey, Gianluca Capuano, Fabio Biondi, David Stern and Leonardo Garcia Alarcon; as well. As renowned director: Barrie Kosky, Jan Lauwers, Jean-Yves Ruf Aurélien Bory ,Jean Bellorini, Clément Debailleul… In her discography, « Vivaldi » with Ensemble Jupiter (Alpha) 2019, « Handel Italian Cantatas » with Sabine Devieilhe and Emmanuelle Haim/Le concert d’Astre. The 2O19-2O season marks an important turning point for Lea Desandre. She will make her debut in many emblematic roles of repertoire:

Rosina Il Barbiere di Siviglia/ Rossin at the Opera of Rouen, Urban Les Huguenots/Meyerbeer at the Grand Theater of Geneva, Cherubino and Despina in the Mozart/Da Ponte trilogy at the Opera of Bordeaux.


In addition to concerts stage/shows: #tellmethetruthaboutlove (baroque pastiche) staging by Robert Carsen and directed by William Christie with Jakub Josef Orlinski in Versailles, Spoleto and NY; « Magic Mozart » directed by Clement Debailleul, directed by Laurence Equilbey at the Seine Musicale, « Venus & Adonis/Blow » in NY and Chicago.

And in concerts: « Odyssey Baroque » tour with Les Arts Florissants ; Tours « Vivaldi » and Chiaroscuro - Monteverdi with the Ensemble Jupiter.
